WELCOME TO THE MAWAZO INSTITUTE APPLICATION PORTAL

The Mawazo Institute is seeking applications for its 2020 PhD Scholars Programme. This non-residential fellowship is aimed at African women pursuing PhD studies at accredited universities in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) or the Social Sciences. Successful applicants will receive grants for research and conference travel, and participate in a year-long professional development training programme.

This year's application process consists of three (3) forms to be completed by all applicants. These are:

i. The 2020 Basic Demographic Information Form

ii. The 2020 PhD Scholars Application Form

iii. The 2020 Academic Support Needs Survey

Please note that interested applicants are required to complete all three (3) forms in the order listed. Click on the Form Name to launch each form. Once you have completed each form, you will be directed to a page with a message acknowledging successful submission. You will then be automatically redirected back to the Mawazo application portal landing page, where you can access the next form.


Please note the following before starting your application

i.  We highly recommend that you use the latest version of Google Chrome to complete your application. 

ii. Only one (1) submission is permitted per form.

iii. You may save your work by scrolling to the bottom of the application and clicking Save Draft. When you are ready to revisit the application, you will find a copy of it in your Saved Drafts folder in your Submittable account. iv.  Click the Submit button on each form only when you are certain that you have completed the form and all information is final.
